ABOUT COMPRESSION FITTINGS
Compression fittings are the most basic style of tube fitting made. The fitting is made up of 3 parts to complete a joint, these being an olive, nut and body. The joint is made by inserting the tube down to the tube stop and tightening a nut which conforms the olive to the shape of the radius and taper of the body and nut.

There are 2 styles of Olives available The are Standard Olives (No 1) and universal olives (No 100). The compression fittings come standard with the No 100 Olive as not only is universal in application but also has a step in design to reduce the possibility of over tightening.

TYPICAL APPLICATION
Metric and Imperial Compression Fittings are mainly used in Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems. With their low cost and ease of assembly Compression Fittings have become a good option for connecting different kinds of tubes.

PRESSURE
1/8' - 1/2" Max 1250PSI/8600kPa Hydraulic @25ºC depending on tubing
5/8',3/4" Max 500PSI/3450kPa Hydraulic @25ºC depending on tubing
(Please use manufacturers working pressure on tubes for correct working pressure).

TEMPERATURE RANGE
Brass -53C to + 121C

MATERIAL
Imperial Compression - Brass

TUBES USED WITH
Polyurethane
Nylon - NOT AIRBRAKE
Aluminium
Copper
Brass
DO NOT USE WITH BUNDY TUBE

ASSEMBLY
Cut tubing to desired length ensuring tube cut is square and clean
Slide Nut and olive on Tube (Threaded end of Nut must face toward fitting)
If using plastic tubing a spigot MUST be used in tube
If using metal tube no spigot needs to be used
Insert tubing into fitting body. Be sure tubing is unable to be inserted any farther
Lubricate threads with Tape or sealant and assemble nut to body of fitting
Tighten nut hand tight. From that point tighten with a spanner DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
